MerConcept is able to reinvent itself and wants to move the lines; our ambitions have changed a great deal since we were created. Driven by the strong beliefs held by Fran\u00e7ois, we wanted to take account in our strategy of the environmental and social challenges that we all face today.<\/p>\n

Therefore, in July 2020 we chose to enshrine our core purpose “Achieve the dream of travelling on the ocean in a sustainable way” and our mission within the company’s statutes in order to become a mission-driven company.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The PACTE law (Plan d\u2019Action pour la Croissance et la Transformation des Entreprises, or Action Plan for Company Growth and Transformation), which was enacted on 22nd May 2019, seeks to give companies the means to innovate, to transform themselves and to grown, while redefining the place and role of companies in society.
\nThis law modifies France’s Civil Code and for the first time introduces the acknowledgement of social and environmental objectives. The company therefore adopts a responsible capitalism approach, which is not driven by the search for profits alone.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Mission-driven companies are ones which actively seek this status. This status enables companies to distinguish themselves from traditional profit-making companies by working for the common good. It combines economic effectiveness with a contribution to society and brings employees together around shared ambitions and values.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
